Google Panda And Google Penguin
In SEO blogging, Google Panda and Google Penguin is not something new for them, because since these were introduced, they make a strong buzz among bloggers. We have to know the differences between Google Panda and Google Penguin, because they have their dues in rankings.

What is Google Panda?

Google Panda is a ranking algorithm, which is first released by Google in February 2011. This algorithm was launched to make a difference between low content sites and high content sites and keep quality sites on the top searches. When this algorithm was launched, many websites with low quality content saw a huge decline in their rankings and advertisements. It effects the ranking of websites about 12% of their searches.
Soon Panda rollout, majority of websites complaints in Google's webmaster forum, therefore Google provided a list with 23 points of "What counts as a high-quality site/content?" which helps the webmasters. Since its launching, 22 new updates have been added in order to rank a site in a better way.

What is Google Penguin?

This was another Google algorithm update, which was first launched on April, 2012. This update was aimed to decrease those search engine ranking websites, which violate Google's Webmaster Guidelines. This update was announced because Google has seen the Black-Hat SEO, Keyword Stuffing, Duplicate Content, techniques which were responsible for increasing the ranking of a website artificially. It actually manipulates the number of links to the page, which is commonly known as "Link Schemes". According to Google's estimation, it affects about 3.2% of search queries. About 6 Penguin updates have been launched till 17, October, 2014.

How I can know that I have been hit by Google Panda and Google Penguin?

If you want to know, either you have been hit by Google Panda and Google Penguin, just go to your "Google Analytic Account" and check your blog/website traffic graph. If you find a drop in your traffic from the date it has been introduced, then you've been hit by that Google update.
